To become eligible for this award a company needs to meet stringent criteria. Our diligence and attention to detail are areas where we succeed, and what we are most proud of. As a roofing company in the metro Detroit area this award means a great deal to us, however; it means even more for our community.
The GAF Two Star President’s Club Award showcases the best of the best in residential roofing contractors by measuring the following.
Meeting Requirements
Let’s start with GAF, the largest roofing manufacturer in North America. A company where the first ready to lay asphalt roofing was created almost 130 years ago. It was also the first company to offer lifetime limited warranty on the entire roofing system in 2012.
First, we are trained to properly install GAF roofing systems and are GAF certified. The next step for our company was to become a Master Elite Contractor. Only Master Elite certified contractors are eligible for the Two Star President’s Club. Of course, it takes years to get there as a company and we had to show that we are:
- Properly Licensed Company
- Adequately Insured (for the sake of our workforce)
- Have a proven long standing positive reputation
- Committed to ongoing professional training
These are not all the requirements to be met. There is also stringent criteria regarding your company’s profile. A company needs to possess:
- Minimum of 7 years experience in the roofing business
- Good credit rating
- Satisfactory rating with Better Business Bureau
- Satisfactory rating with State Consumer Affairs
- No significant undisclosed workmanship judgments against the firm
- Must complete a minimum of five Golden Pledge Ltd Warranty installations with an average inspection score of 8.5 or better
- Must maintain 90% or better customer satisfaction rating in the past 3 years and on an ongoing basis (minimum of 500 squares annually)

Steep Slope Qualifications
We earned those two stars by meeting the criteria for The Performance pathway and The Reliability pathway. Winners of the prestigious President’s Club Award met the following criteria and were awarded a star for each category met.
Performance Pathway Criteria:
- Must Install and Register 50 Golden Pledge Ltd Warranties during the qualification period.
- Must achieve a minimum of 2 consecutive years of Triple Excellence award including the current qualifying year.
- Must achieve a minimum of 4.5 consumer rating throughout the qualifying year.
Reliability Pathway Criteria:
- Must have at least 7 consecutive years of Installing and Registering 10 Golden Pledge Ltd. Warranties every year including the current qualifying year.
